Trying to dive into the sports industry can be daunting.  There is no career road map.  For most professions, there are general steps you follow to get a job.  To become a lawyer, the steps are bachelor's degree, LSAT, law school, bar exam, and then you can start practicing. To become a doctor it's a bachelor's degree, MCAT, medical school, a residency, then you can begin your career. In sports, you get your bachelor's degree and then you are left to figure it out from there.  You can either go to grad school if you're not quite sure what your next step is, or try to get your foot in the door any way you can; network your tail off and don't look back.

I've launched this blog as a place for soon-to-be college graduates and young professionals looking to break into the sports industry. I also welcome anyone who is looking to gain insight on how up-and-coming and successful people in the sports industry have gotten to where they are today.

My hope is that if you’re reading this you’ll be able to use the wisdom and advice from the interviews I’ve conducted to help achieve your goals both professionally and personally.

I decided to create this blog after reading the book Tools of Titans by Tim Ferris (Do yourself a favor and go to Amazon/library/bookstore and get your hands on this book, it's incredible).  Reading about how ultra-successful people failed and didn’t have any idea or direction as to what they wanted to do in their early-to-mid 20’s, has helped me find comfort in my current situation.

I hope this blog can help at least one person in a positive way, whether it pushes you to work even harder to break into the world of sports, or maybe you decide this isn’t your passion and you want to pursue something else in life.  I don't think you're wrong for feeling either way.  Go with your gut.  Just know that myself and thousands of others are going through the same thing.
