Why Dreaming Isn't Easy

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that fulfilling your dreams is tough. From the ages of 5-22 you’re essentially given a blueprint of how you should live your life. Go to school, get good grades, get into a good college, etc. But as soon as you graduate there really isn’t a published guide or steps for you to follow. For most, you know you need to make money and get a job because that’s just what is expected after graduation. And that’s where dreaming becomes hard.

Your passion or dream might eventually have to get put on hold, or maybe you're still trying to find what your passion is. Paying off student loans might become a reality. Trying to prioritize and balance relationships, friendships, traveling and even your own well-being while also trying to make time for your passion can become very difficult.

I face those same issues. I have worked on this blog for almost two years before finally releasing it publicly. Like many others, it has been a passion project. Its taken this long partly because life has gotten in the way, but mostly because I have doubted myself to move forward. I have feared that the website won’t look good, or no one would even read it. But life is short and I realize you need to take chances...so here we are.

Hopefully you’ll continue to follow this blog and my journey. If you’ve read up to this point, I want to say thank you and leave you with this quote:

“So many of us choose our path of fear disguised as practicality. What we really want seems impossibly out of reach, and ridiculous to expect, so we never dare to ask the universe for it. You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance at doing what you love.” - Jim Carrey
